25 Years

Today is Shane’s and my 25th wedding anniversary. I have rewritten this caption a million times. I don’t know how to summarize what it feels like to be married to the best person I’ve ever known. I think what I’ll say is that I will never be more grateful for anything in my existence than that the universe put me in the path of this man from Arkansas. That somehow we both moved to Idaho at the same young age, that we found and chose each other. Though- “chose each other” doesn’t really feel correct.
It was as if we recognized each other. And then moving forward…. there was no one else.

If I can give any of advice to women who are thinking of having a romantic partnership throughout life with a man: Don’t settle for anything other than someone who makes you feel completely whole, safe, seen and heard. Who desperately wants you to be happy and satisfied, as your best version of yourself. Who lets you grow and change. Even when those changes are unrecognizable and uncomfortable. And who can hold you in safety and love when you are at the lowest versions of yourself. And if you can return all of that to him, you’re both going to be pretty happy.

Love you Shane. 🤍
